Andrew Ryan
KCBASS History: Andrew was the 3rd lil bass student and started with the first group of bass players on a 1/10th size bass bought from George Vance. He traveled to DC with Johnny and gang. This is where the infamous Funky Toe Jam event took place. Andrew was the young kid that had the worst smelling feet.. really quite extrodinary. Johnny wrote the song at that moment but, it was Andrew and Tommy (another of the original group of lil bass players) that remembered the jam. Andrew’s family got relocated to Denver Colorado but stayed in touch and would travel to DC and ISB events with Johnny throughout the years. Andrew also came as participant to the first years of kcbass and has also came as a faculty member. His recitals are always amazing as he plays his brand of solo music mixed with great vocals. Andrew has soared into an amazing bass player and now tours and plays professionally. We are so proud of him and also glad he doesn’t take off his shoes around us.
